The first name of the team was "Comerciario", and the had a striped shirt. They won lots of tournaments, and in the end the 40th decade, the mascot of the team was a little boy called Carlos Humberto Campos. In the 50th decade, they used a shirt with only 1 strip and in the same decade they changed again, they used a white shirt, without strips.
In the same decade, there were a figurine's album, with the famous players, including the Comerciario's team.
In 1968, they won the Santa Catarina's tournament. In 1978, they changed the name to Criciuma Esporte Clube, and the first game with this name was April 22nd, with Marcilio Dias. In May 13th, 1984; they showed the new shirt, the colors were black, white and yellow, and the new badge.
After this time, Criciuma's team became famous in Brazil, they were in the top team's, but some internals problems made them downgraded, they went to the 3rd division. But in 2010, they returned to the 2nd division, and in the end of this year (2012), the team returned to the 1st division.
